What: A tripod made of aluminum and carbon fiber, designed for use on long backpacking trips. The legs can be put together to be a walking stick in order to minimize pack weight.
Why: I wanted a tripod I could take into the backcountry on camping trips. Created for my ME203-Design and Manufacturing final project.
When: Spring 2017
How: Milled and turned aluminum with composite tubes to minimize weight. The anodized red parts in the picture were all designed and manufactured manually by me, and the rest were catalog components I put together.
Video demonstrating functionality: (Warning, cheesy/produced long ago!)
